BIO

Mike Fors was raised in San Francisco, CA.  Since drawing from an early age, he began to watch the streets closely as they collected scrawls and a variety of 'style writing.’  Inspired and immersed in hip-hop and skateboard culture, Fors took comfort in these streets. By the late 80's he was actively writing graffiti and by the 90's, Fors began to show work in galleries, have work published in subculture magazines and was featured in the ‘Hello My Name Is’ (1994) video of Bay Area graffiti.

In 1997, Fors began to move around the country, working & painting in Oregon, Colorado and New York City.  While in NYC, Fors began working in outdoor advertising, hand painting large scale commercial murals. In 2016 Fors relocated to Los Angeles to run the West Coast operations for an outdoor advertising company, opening their first shop outside of NYC in the heart of DTLA’s Arts District.

In 2019, Fors temporarily left the corporate art world to began working for himself, During this time, he continued to find his voice as a painter and work as a consultant for creative companies and artists across the country.  This transition allowed Fors to work with several independent mural companies and expand his experience in both processes and the use of different materials.

In 2021, Fors took a job working with a Los Angeles-based design firm as their Mural Operations Manager.  This would continue to build on his past experience, expanding his capabilities as an artist and a production manager.  The firm would offer the opportunity to complete the largest mural in California as well as transform spaces for some of the world’s largest companies through art and paint installations.

As Fors continues to push the boundaries of what can be created in paint with the design firm he also continues to explore a variety of materials, processes and composition in his personal art.  His passion for art is continuously fueled by the desire to create, a love for learning and the hope to inspire others.
